Do’s and Don’t for Interview

Do’s

1) Early arrival – There is no excuse for late candidates. Always arrive 15 min early.

2) Giving your qualifications – Stress your accomplishments that are most related to the job.

3) Conduct yourself professionaly – Be aware what your body language is saying. For example – Smile, make eye contact.

4) Anticipate tough questions – Prepare yourself for tough questions. Try to make your weakness as your strength

5) Dress properly – Dress professionally. Dress will give your first impression.

6) Ask questions throughout the interview – Interview should always be mutual exchange of information. It should not be one sided conversation. Feel free to ask question or doubts you are getting. If you feel that interview has gone well, ask question about company , responsibilites you will have. At the end you can ask feedback for improvement required in you from interviewer point of view.

7) Listen – This is the most important part. You need to be good listener. Don’t interrupt interviewer, let him finish. Don’t concentrate only on interviewer words but also concentrate on his voice tone, body language. Try to judge what his body language is saying. This will help you to understand what interviewer things and pattern your answeres accordingly

8) End with positive note – Always end with positive note and smiling countenance

Don’ts

1) Don’t answer vague questions – Don’t answer questions you think you hear. Let the interviewer to be more specific and then respond.

2) Never interrrupt – If you don’t have time to listen. Interviewer is more busier than you :)

3) Don’t chew or place anything on interviewer table – Don’t become over familier even interviewer is doing so. Don’t use heavy perfumes etc.

4) Don’t ramble – Long answers make speaker indecisive. On other hand don’t answer questions just in yes or no. Try to explain wherever possible.

5) Don’t lie – Answer your questions truthfully as possible.
